The manual used to train story tellers for World Language story times. Community members are trained to be story tellers, and then paid to do world language story times. Valerie Wonder acknowledges, "not an option for everyone, but it has been great for us". The manual was originally developed by King County Library System, then adapted by former SPL Children’s librarian, Tracy Li, and further adapted by current SPL Children’s librarian, Shannon Schinagl.
