Indeed. One newspaper column per week.

(My weekly column on my library's web-page is on hiatus. DotNetNuke "blew-up" as it were, so we need a re-design in order to retain the CMS features we want.)

So you took the plunge into the blogging pool! That's great. I will be very interested to see where you go with this. I know you to be a librarian with long and deep insights into the profession.

I toy with the idea of a blog every now and then but it hasn't gone beyond the "maybe" stage. By the time I feel ready to speak out, blogs will probably be fading away. I'm happy to be a small part of a couple of group blogs.

Are you still writing your news column as well?

My concern is that of the reference librarian whose job it indeed is to look for truth ... or a reasonable facsimile thereof. Library education, I'm afraid, is generally quite irrelevant to acquiring the knowledges needed to understand the questions we are asked to answer.

We need a new discipline.

I've got a weekly column. I don't know if you want notification of (or links to) all of those ... plus some WJ staff are Facebook friends and I'm now posting the TribLocal links there.

I dunno. It's their copyright (though of course anyone can link to it until link-rot sets in).

If you ask, they may well be pleased that one of their columns had value. I can pipe up, of course, but you're the ones who see the value at WJ.

It doesn't hurt that OCLC is a non-profit!

At first I was excited to see Gen X'ers included in the "young" category, but then read further down that one must be under 40 to contribute to the site. Since I was born in the Summer of Love, guess I'm a Gen X Geezer. But I will be sure to stay in touch with her site as a reader. :-)

Yes, I was super fortunate in finding such a great new job so quickly.

I think the weather may have finally turned for the better here. I'm not sure if you already came east or are about to but you should have some nice sunshine either way - it's been quite nice for a week or so now...

Interesting.... We're seeing bounces for folks (ie, with non-functioning email addresses) for both threads, so that tells us subscriptions are "technically" working for both those threads. Please check to make sure you are subscribed -- If you see "Unsubscribe" at the top of the first page of the thread, you _should_ now be getting the updates.

If you aren't, will you let us know?

Other tips: Check your spam filter (probably not an issue if you are receiving updates for one of the threads and not another). You an also try toggling (click Unsubscribe, then Subscribe) the setting to see if that fixes it.

These subscriptions were enough effort that we really want it working for everyone.
