Summer Reading "Supplement"
2:40 PM EDT 4/22/09
Hello all,

I'm looking for a few volunteers to help produce the summer reading supplement. (Here's the deal: the ProJo Newspapers in Education program has ended, so what we are producing is not really a supplement. I am using the term for lack of a better one. But if anyone has any suggestions for a snappy title for this thing, please share.)

I need a few interviews with kids who have participated in the summer reading program in the past. If you can provide a picture of the child, even better! I would need to know the child's first name, age, grade and school, and the library where they participated in the summer reading game. Here are the questions: 1.Why did you join the summer reading club? 2.What programs did you enjoy last summer? 3. Name a book you read and liked: 4. What would you other kids about the summer reading program? 5. Will you join again this year? I will need five interviews, but only one per library. Please email me at corrinajean@yahoo.com if you think you would be able to provide one interview for the supplement - I will need the info within the next two weeks.

Also, if anyone is willing to dig up a few (five or so) interesting pieces of trivia that somehow relate to the creativity theme, that would be great too.

Websites that relate to the theme: can anyone suggest any? Remember that the supplement is primarily geared toward 3rd and 4th graders.

Can anyone think of anything else that might be worth including? Games, crafts, poetry, or someone in your community doing something creative? I am open to suggestions!

If you can help, please email me at corrinajean@yahoo.com. Your reward will be your name in print and my eternal gratitude. I will post here once I have enough volunteers. Thanks in advance for helping.

Can it be called "Be Creative @ Your Library", Corrie? That might get the point across quickly!
