Hi everyone,

Thanks for the question about the calendars. Unfortunately, we did not print a new round of calendars for this upcoming school year. There were no funds readily available to purchase a supply as in past years, and in the transition, I didn't get an order form out for individual libraries to purchase them and to coordinate a group order. There is a much smaller supply left from the previous two years of printing, but most of them are already assigned to prior year recipients. If some calendars become available, I will certainly let people know.

I am going to work on finding some funding to print calendars this spring. If any of you have ideas about groups that might be interested in supporting the calendar, please let me know. If you have a local group that would like to purchase them for your town, please let me know. I'll compile all of the available resources and we can place an order next Spring for September 2010.

We are working on a Kindergarten Calendar website that will be launched on the OLIS page. I'll let everyone know when that resource is available. All of the lead activities for each month will be available as PDFs, and the additional activities (one for each domain) will be there as well. There will be booklists for each theme that include additional titles to those printed in the calendar. Monthly programs could be planned around the lead activities and booklists.

Also, remember the WIKI! Anne McLaughlin (WWA) and Susan Lepore (WAR) have been contributing lots of great ideas for monthly library calendar nights through lists of additional books and fun activities. The address for the WIKI is http://ready4kri.pbworks.com/.
