School Visits
· Design a skit for students to perform
· Take large paper to school and have kids paint/draw
· Pictionary/charades with creative theme
· Flyers/bookmarks to each student with all the info
· Trivia – music trivia, weird/interesting things that writers/authors/musicians have done (ex. Which author cut off his ear?)
· Bring prizes or incentives to school to show what they will get if they participate in the program
· Participatory story
· Call schools early to set up visits, do not wait until June
· Try to visit each classroom or work with school librarian
· Head Start – not just schools
· Talk about SRP, then quiz them to see if they remember details (reinforce)
· Dress as painter, dancer or musician
· Wear beret, dress like artist with smock
· Creative mad Lib theme
· Draw and tell
· Dots – art
· Booktalk!!!
