Welcome to WebJunction Rhode Island! We've gathered unique services for Rhode Island librarians here to make them easier to find. Over the coming months, we'll be adding more content and integrating WJ resources in the OLIS website, and vice versa. Let us know what you think, and provide us with any suggestions you may have for making WebJunction RI the best possible resource for RI library staff.
Explore WebJunction
We encourage you to explore WebJunction and discover the rich content available to RI library staff. WebJunction is a space where you can connect, create and learn, so rev up your mouse and start exploring. Some places to start:
- View the WebJunction Getting Started video
- Create a free WebJunction account or update your existing account (see the right navigation bar)
- Visit the Member Center to learn more about your WebJunction member benefits
- Check out the Course Catalog, where RI library staff can take free online courses courtesy of the Office of Library and Information Services
- Find an area of interest and go exploring, whether it be Technology, Library Management or Library Services
- Keep on top of what's new and popular in courses, discussions, and content on the Hot Topics page
- Questions? Comments? Contact the WebJunction RI Team.
Continuing Education
OLIS will continue to offer Continuing Education classes, but in addition we now offer:
- WebJunction Online Courses
Over 500 self-paced classes are available, most of which are free to WebJunction RI members. Please remember that once you sign up for a class, OLIS' account is debited. We only have a limited number of class credits, so we ask that you take a maximum of 2 classes at once and that you complete all classes so that everyone can enjoy the benefits of the online classes.
What's Happening
The following discussion groups and listservs are now on WebJunction. We also welcome suggestions for new discussion groups.
Look for new groups on the national level on the Hot Topics page. Want a new local group? Contact the OLIS Web Team.
We will be adding new areas of local interest to WebJunction, and adding local touches to existing WebJunction pages. And we hope that you get involved with the WebJunction community, by connecting with other library staff and contributing to discussions. And don't stop there, you can add content, create groups and use the online teaching tools (contact the for more information). The only limit to WebJunction involvement is your imagination!
