I will be attending the annual meeting of CSLP April 21 - 24 and we will vote on the slogan for 2011 and the theme for 2012. I have posted the suggestions as documents. Please read through them and let me know what you like, what you hate, etc so I can represent your views at the meeting.

Hi, everyone,

I like the idea of the theme for 2011 being Go Back in Time. It seems to draw in a lot of the history and time travel elements that are mentioned throughout the list. I also like the Books to Movies and other forms of Entertainment.

I am not sure it is a good idea for us to use Christmas in July. It is a fun idea, but we always need to be cautious as to the level of religion is included without it being balanced with other similar beliefs.

As for slogans, I am really keen on Destination: Library and Book at Trip. Neither are totally book specific and seem to promote everything the library has to offer in fun. I have found that the kids find our attempts to utilize txt or IM speech to be pretty bad. Unless we are using real, existing language, it sounds like a bunch of old farts coming up with something that sounds cool ... and SOO doesn't.
