Would you like to be involved in helping to plan out the schedule of YART sessions for the next year? The June session of YART will be dedicated to planning out the subjects, locations, and presenters for each of our meetings from next September through July. The session will take place on Thursday, June 11 at 9:30 am. The Young Adult Services Steering Committee (YASSC) ais always looking for more insight as to what topics to cover so bring your ideas.

We also want to encourage our school based colleagues to attend because we are always looking for ways to include them in our planning process. We understand that this session is scheduled during the school day, but YASSC would really like to make sure to try and take your concerns into account when it comes to scheduling. Please feel free to contact Aaron Coutu (LunarHunk@aol.com), YASSC chair, or Donna Good (Dgood@narragansett.k12.ri.us), the school media specialist representative for YASSC, if you have suggestions.

With these budget-tightening times, we would like to share the responsibility of providing refreshments among everyone. As a result, we are looking for volunteers to bring some tasty treats. JAM will be providing coffee, tea, and such, but if you would like to bring something else, please post what you would like to bring in a response.

We will also have about 300 books to give out as part of the giveaway this year so each attendee should go home with a nice pile to add to their collection or use as prizes.

If you have not yet registered for the program, you can do so at http://www.olis.ri.gov/services/ce/regis.php. Please keep in mind that you do not have to register for the program, but it can prove helpful to the host to have a better idea of how many people to set up the room for.

Directions:
FROM NEWPORT: Take 138 West over the Newport Bridge (Pell). Take first exit after stopping to pay toll, this will take you under the bridge. At stop sign turn left (Conanicus Avenue). At next stop sign turn right (North Road). Take your first right (Swinburne Street). Library driveway and parking is on your left.

FROM NORTH KINGSTOWN: Take 138 East over Jamestown (V.) Bridge. Take first mexit, just after you get over the bridge (Helm Street exit). At stop sign go straight. At second Stop sign turn right (North Road). Look for a Cumberland farms store on your right and a playground on your left. The large brick building on the left after the playground is the library. Take a left just after the library (Swinburne Street). Library driveway and parking is on your left.
